From the chaos of waste, simplicity emerges, and the beauty of a single knot gives life to a new form.

Based on our original design, this time for a special exhibition MAR MOTTO (Faro 2024) this work was created exclusively from discarded materials that I collected from local fishing areas and workshops, that I've been introduced and reused into different works.

In this special one, utilizing the natural color of the ropes to create a repeated pattern, stands out through the repetition of a single knot along its lines, a symbol of connection and continuity, providing a visual and sensory experience. 

This work and design invites us to contemplate the beauty in repetition and difference, evoking a sense of continuity and harmony, with the subtleties and variations intrinsic to each knot.

Through the knot-free spaces, the piece interacts with light and creates an atmosphere of transparency and serenity. This interaction is inspired by the reflections of the sun on the sea, where shadows and rays of light create a mesmerizing pattern. Just like the effect of sunlight reflecting on the water's surface during sunrise and sunset, the piece plays with the concepts of light and shadow.I I

"Reflexo" is more than a celebration of the artisanal techniques of local fishermen; it is a visual meditation on repetition, light, and transparency. Through the simplicity of the materials and the complexity of the interlacings, the work transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary, offering an experience of contemplation and serenity that connects the viewer with the essence of the sea and art.
