A textile art collection for Soul Houses Collection

CARRAPATEIRA is a collection of eight textile artworks created exclusively for the eight suites of Soul Houses Collection, in Carrapateira, Algarve.

Created for the eight suites of Soul Houses Collection, the CARRAPATEIRA collection brings the surrounding landscape into the interior through a series of eight unique textile artworks.

The collection draws from the natural character of Carrapateira - its open landscapes, changing light, earthy tones and sense of movement - translating these elements into abstract compositions of line, texture, volume and colour. Rather than directly depicting the landscape, the works interpret its atmosphere through the tactile language of textile art.

Each piece was developed in relation to the architecture and atmosphere of its respective suite, considering scale, colour, light and the surrounding materials. The use of different densities, layers and rope structures creates a dialogue between solid and open areas, shadow and light, allowing each composition to respond to its space while remaining part of a cohesive collection.

Developed over the course of a year, the collection evolved through an ongoing process of experimentation, from the initial observation of the landscape and selection of materials to the construction of each individual work and its final integration within the suites.
